The Breakwater

This property exceeded expectations. From the prompt and thorough communication before our trip to the amazing home and exquisite setting, we all were completely enchanted. There were 13 of us, each couple got their own room and the single ladies shared the bathroom. We had Tevin cater my birthday dinner and he was phenomenal. Another night Cleo arranged for Bahamian food to be delivered. It was delicious! We cooked at the house the rest of our visit and found the kitchen to be well appointed. The only thing I would have changed; sharp knives! The knives were comically dull, but that’s honestly a commonality in vacation rentals. We managed just fine and were all beyond satisfied with our stay there. If you plan on cooking, I encourage you to heed the owners tip of bringing your own food and sundries from home as grocery shopping on the island is expensive. Also, Coco Plum Beach and The Coconut Club are a MUST! We didn’t swim with the pigs and are not sorry about it.My husband and I hope to bring our 5 adult children and their families at some point!

The breakwater house was perfect for our stay. We had 10 adults and 9 children. A bed for every person, and plenty of bathrooms. The outdoor living space was perfect to hang out on the days we didnt have anything planned. We did a lot of cooking to cut down on costs of eating out. Exuma is really expensive, so we had to get creative. We did have Cleo organize a dinner delivered one evening that was great for the group. Make sure you book a boat trip with exuma watersportsm we did a private all day tour and loved every minute of it. The house itself was perfect, yoy wont he disappointed with the location, beach, or amenities. We had everything we needed and some. Thanks for a wonderful stay! We hope to make it back again!!

We had a large group of family ages 3 to 54. All the bedrooms and bathrooms were great for us. Nobody went without. The house is stocked with everything. The owners were fast to respond, helpful with information. We rented the van they have, and worked out wonderfully with it being at the airport waiting for us to dropping it off. You won't be disappointed in the location as its one road off the main hwy. Very quiet, and beautiful! We loved everything about our vacation to Exuma. Having a nice house to call home for the 10 days made the vacation! Kids loved the pool and beach! We had calm days and windy days, the kids loved the windy wave days! Thank you for a great stay and vacation We will remember!

Our extended family of 15 from ages 6-74 stayed in this house for 10 days. It was such an amazing experience and we are already planning to come back! We fit perfectly and felt right at home. We all enjoyed the various amenities from the ice machine to the heated pool, it all felt luxurious. The location was perfect, we could even snorkel right near the house, the beach was breathtaking and the communication was great!

We were originally scheduled to visit Breakwater House in June 2024, but thanks to major flight issues with American Airlines, we weren’t able to make it. The owners were incredibly gracious and let us rebook for August 29–September 5, 2025, and I’m so glad they did — it was absolutely worth the wait. From the moment we arrived, we knew this was a special place. The house was immaculately clean, every corner sparkling and perfectly maintained. You could tell that the owners care deeply about their home and their guests’ experience. It felt like stepping into a private luxury retreat. Every detail in the house has been thoughtfully considered. The décor is elegant yet cozy, and the furniture is high-end, comfortable, and beautifully arranged. The kitchen is fully stocked — truly a dream for anyone who loves to cook — with place settings for 20+, every utensil and appliance you could imagine, plus an extra freezer and a separate ice maker. The bedrooms are incredibly comfortable, with soft linens and plush pillows, and the bathrooms had more than enough towels, soaps, and other essentials. Outside, the pool and lounge area are stunning. There are plenty of comfortable chairs for sunbathing, and the house provides kayaks, paddleboards, beach toys, games, and books. The beach is breathtaking — white sand, clear turquoise water, and most days we had it all to ourselves. It honestly felt like our own private slice of paradise. We rented the van from the owners, which made exploring Exuma easy, and I have to mention Miss Cleo — she is an absolute treasure. Always cheerful, helpful, and so welcoming, she went out of her way to make sure our stay was perfect. She really made a wonderful place even more special. Breakwater House is more than a vacation rental — it’s a full experience. Every detail, from the luxurious furnishings to the stocked kitchen and the sparkling clean rooms, shows how much care has been put into making guests feel comfortable and spoiled. We loved Breakwater House. It is immaculate, soothingly decorated and designed for family fun! The pool is awesome and the beach is just a step away. The hosts are great and took care of our every need. The best way to see Exuma is to rent the property’s 10 person van. It made jetting around the island fun and easy. We will be back! I wish I could give more than five stars.

The house was amazing. The beach was beautiful and private. We only saw 3 other people on the beach the entire time we were there. (We were there for a week). The house had many amenities...floats, umbrellas, chairs, extra sunscreen, bug spray, etc. The owners and house manager were very quick to answer any questions we had. We would definitely come back!

We were a multi generational family of 10 and we had plenty of toom. The house is beautiful and the beach and pool area are spectacular! We only saw 2 people walk by the beach all week! We hated to leave, it was a wonderful trip. I highly recommend this house! We rented the 10 person van from the owners and that made trips to the supermarket, excursions, going out for ice cream easy. The owners are super helpful with anything you might need, including recommendations for dining, excursions. Shopping ect. You won't be sorry, book this house and spend time in paradise.

First time to Exuma and absolutely in love with the island. The house was absolutely perfect for our group of 10. The beds were comfortable and the house was fully stocked. We were the only ones on the beach the entire stay. So private!! Highly recommend staying at this house!! Cleo the house manager was a gem! Picked up our pizza and few groceries mid week. Only thing missing was a hammock!! Thank you to the owners for allowing us to stay at there home for a week!! Most memorable vacation!!

Wow! The Breakwater house went above and beyond in so many ways. The communication with the host was timely and always helpful. We rented their van to use during our stay and I highly recommend using that service. It was at the airport ready for us and it was a quick drive to the house. When we arrived, it felt like we were the first guests staying in the house! Everything was in such great shape and felt brand new. You can tell the owners put a lot of effort into making sure the house is stocked, cleaned, and ready for guests. We had a group of 12 and the house layout was perfect for a large group. All rooms have a bathroom, comfortable beds/bedding, and good air conditioning. The house was so well stocked. They have thought of everything you might need. The owners also provided a great guide with tips, suggestions, and contact information for things to do, places to eat, etc. The pool and beach at the house may have been our favorite part though! We spent so much time outside it was perfect to be out there in the afternoons after a day of exploring the island. The last day we actually decided to stay at the house and enjoy the pool and beach because it was so wonderful. This was our third trip to Exuma and we will definitely stay at The Breakwater again!

The Breakwater Villa is a amazing place that has everything plenty of space beautiful heated pool on a great beach and i would recommend to anyone visiting Great Exuma you will not be disappointed! The Good Life Bahamas were also fantastic as they provided so much great information for our stay (chef Trevor and driver Omar!!!!!!) and Cleo was absolutely wonderful!!!!!!! Also the welcome gift from The Good Life Bahamas was so nice!

Our family of 15 had a wonderful week at the Breakwater. The house was really well supplied and its location was wonderful. We literally had a private beach to ourselves and the pool and beach access to the house are what made it an amazing week for all of us. I would highly recommend renting this beautiful house!!

This property was absolutely perfect for our trip. The booking process was easy and communication was great. We received plenty of information prior to our arrival and the property manager met us onsite to give us a warm welcome. There are plenty of amenities on the property and it is very clean. Located perfectly for you to access anything you need with a short drive. Would highly recommend and stay there again.
